How long does your tea stay fresh and how should I store it?

The answer is… it depends on the tea! Because some of our blends have big chunks of fruit, chocolate and other great stuff, they don’t always stay fresh as long as our traditional straight teas. To keep your teas fresh, always store them in a cool, dry, dark place and keep them well sealed.

To make sure you’re always getting the best cup of tea possible, we recommend you follow these guidelines:

  • Teas and infusions with fruits and nuts: consume within 6 months from date of purchase

  • Straight teas: consume within 12 months from date of purchase.

Does tea expire?

No, tea does not expire; it just loses freshness over time. To ensure the freshest teas, please refer to the previous section.

Are there teas I should avoid while pregnant or breastfeeding?

For personal health questions, your best bet is always to speak up to your healthcare provider. All of our teas have detailed ingredient lists, so you have the info you need to ask your doctor whether specific blends or ingredients are right for you.

How do I know when the water temperature is right?

While temperature is easy to determine if you have a thermometer, how can you tell without one? The easiest trick is the boil-and-wait method below. Keep in mind these are just guidelines and not a guarantee.

  • More delicate teas (75℃ - 85℃): Let boiled water sit for about 5 minutes before use.

  • Robust teas (90℃ - 95℃): Let boiled water sit for about 1 minute before use.

Do your teas contain any sugar or calories?

Our hot teas contain virtually no sugar, carbohydrates or calories.
But our iced teas do contain organic, raw cane sugar (excluding our sugarless iced teas i.e. Pomegranate, Fresh Jasmine).

Are your teas gluten-free?

They sure are! But please be aware that our teas do not come from certified gluten-free facilities.
